David Black is associate counsel with the law firm DuMoulin Black LLP in Vancouver, where he was a partner from 1968 to December 2003. Mr. Black has a long and distinguished career both as a lawyer and in his capacity as a director for numerous public companies. He joined the board of Zincore on the company’s formation in 2005. Mr. Black is also a director of Southwestern Resources Corp., Viceroy Exploration Ltd., Quest Capital Corp., and the BC Cancer Foundation. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 1967 and practiced as a lawyer specializing in corporate and securities law until December 2003. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science in 1963 and Bachelor of Law degree in 1966, both from the University of British Columbia.
Rex McLennan is Chief Financial Officer of Viterra, Canada's leading agri-business cooperative. Prior to joining Viterra, he was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer for Vancouver 2010 "VANOC", where he helped build the mangement team and develop the overall financial infrastructure, controls and risk management systems required for planning and executing the 2010 Olympic Games. His appointment at VANOC in 2005 followed a distinguished 14 year career with Placer Dome Inc., where he was appointed Vice President and Treasurer in 1994 and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1997, a position he held until September 2005. He also served as a Director of the World Gold Council while Placer Dome's CFO.
Prior to that, Mr. McLennan had a 12 year career with Imperial Oil Limited. He has a long, established track record of successful financial management and business development experience in large, publicly traded, multinational resource-based companies.
Mr. McLennan holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from McGill University (Finance and Accounting - Dean's Honour List). He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, and a director (and Audit Committee Chair) of several publicly traded mineral resource companies engaged in the exploration and development of mineral opportunities in the Americas and Europe. He lives in Calgary.
Prior to his retirement in 2001, Mr. Osatenko worked as a geologist with Cominco Ltd. and Teck Cominco Ltd. for nearly 30 years. He was a project geologist and senior geologist throughout British Columbia, and was chief geologist and Manager of Exploration for Latin America until 2001.
Mr. Osatenko obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1965 and a Master of Science degree in Geology in 1967, specializing in economic geology and petrology, both from the University of British Columbia. He is past Chair of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metals (1969-1972) and Minerals Economic Group (1986-1989) and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Mr. Osatenko is an independent director.
Henry Giegerich is a graduate Mining Engineer from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Engineering. His 44 years in the mining industry included 35 years with Cominco Ltd. (now Teck Cominco Ltd.) in technical, managerial and executive positions. Senior appointments with Cominco were Vice-President, Northern Group, and President/General Manager of Cominco Alaska, the Cominco subsidiary that was created to develop the Red Dog Mine in Alaska. Following his retirement from Cominco in 1988, he has worked as a professional Mining Consultant to North American and international mining companies. He has also served on the Board of Directors of several Canadian mining juniors, including Solomon Resources, Loki Gold, Trillion Resources, Oliver Gold, and Viceroy Resources, and is currently on the Boards of Starfield Resources and MCK Mining.
